What is GEO?
GEO stands for Generative Engine Optimization. It's the practice of optimizing your content so it appears accurately in AI-generated answers from platforms like ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Perplexity, and Claude. Think of it as SEO for AI search. How does 99Visibility work?
99Visibility sends your target keywords to four AI platforms (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI, and Claude), then analyzes every response. It checks whether your brand is mentioned, whether the information is accurate, what the sentiment is, and whether your site is cited as a source. Based on this analysis, it calculates a visibility score and generates specific, prioritized recommendations to improve your results. See the Quick Start Guide to get set up.
How often should I run audits?
We recommend running an audit once per week for active optimization, or biweekly for maintenance monitoring. After implementing a batch of recommendations (3-5 fixes), run a new audit to measure the impact. There's no harm in running audits more frequently — your plan determines how many audits you can run per month.
Which AI platforms do you audit?
99Visibility currently audits four platforms:
- ChatGPT (OpenAI) — the most widely used AI assistant
- Perplexity — AI-powered search engine that always cites sources
- Google AI Overviews — AI-generated summaries in Google Search
- Claude (Anthropic) — growing rapidly in enterprise and developer adoption
We plan to add support for additional platforms as the AI search landscape evolves.
How accurate is the scoring?
The visibility score is a quantitative measure based on real AI responses to your keywords. It's not a prediction or estimate — it reflects what AI platforms actually said during your audit. Accuracy detection depends on the brand data you provide in your account; the more complete your profile (pricing, features, descriptions), the more accurately we can flag hallucinations. Can I export reports?
Yes. From any completed audit, click Export to download a PDF report that includes your visibility scores, per-platform breakdown, hallucination alerts, and recommendations. This is useful for sharing results with leadership or team members who don't have a 99Visibility account.
Is my data secure?
Yes. 99Visibility uses Supabase (PostgreSQL) with row-level security, ensuring your brand data and audit results are only accessible to your account. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. We never share your brand data, audit results, or keywords with third parties. Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe (our payment processor) — we never store your credit card information. See Billing & Plans for payment details.
Can I monitor multiple brands?
Yes. Each plan supports multiple brands. Add additional brands from the Dashboard by clicking Add Brand. Each brand has its own keywords, audits, competitors, and recommendations. Audit limits are shared across all brands in your account.
