Understanding Your Score
What the visibility score means and how it's calculated.
The Score Formula
Your visibility score (0–100) is a weighted average of four metrics:
- Mention Rate (40%) — what percentage of your keywords get a response that mentions your brand.
- Accuracy Rate (30%) — of the mentions, what percentage is factually correct.
- Sentiment (15%) — is AI positive, neutral, or negative about you.
- Citation Rate (15%) — does AI link back to your website.
Score Ranges
| Range | Level | What It Means |
|---|---|---|
| 0–39 | Critical | AI doesn't know you or is spreading wrong info. Act now. |
| 40–59 | Warning | AI knows you exist but coverage is patchy or partly wrong. |
| 60–79 | Good | Solid visibility. Room to improve citations and close gaps. |
| 80–100 | Excellent | Strong across platforms. Focus on maintaining and monitoring. |
Per-Platform Scores
Each platform is scored separately because they work differently:
- ChatGPT — uses training data. Rarely cites sources. Citation rate will be low here.
- Perplexity — searches the web in real-time. Always cites sources. Best place to improve citation rate.
- Google AI — uses Google's search index + AI. If you rank well in regular Google, you'll likely score higher here.
- Claude — training data only, no web access. Conservative — lower mention rate but higher accuracy when it does mention you.
How to Improve
Go to your Recommendations page. Start with High-priority, Low-effort items for quick wins. Re-audit after implementing 3–5 fixes.
